Initial Visit
We would love to welcome you to our practice to find out how simple it is to achieve the smile you always wanted. We strive to make your initial appointment as comfortable and informative as possible. You are welcome to ask as many questions as you would like. Our aim is to provide you with a clear understanding of your treatment alternatives and for you to feel confident in the doctors and staff.
During the first appointment we will:
• Welcome you to the office
• Review your health history
• Do a complete orthodontic exam
• Review your unique orthodontic problems
• Explain the possibilities for correction
• Identify the best time to begin treatment
• Estimate the length of treatment
• Tell you how much treatment will cost
If it is time to begin treatment, the next step is to collect additional information by acquiring orthodontic records. 
The orthodontic records portion of your appointment consists of a comprehensive orthodontic examination, digital radiographs, digital photographs and a computerized analysis of your face with the innovative Dolphin Imaging system. The OrthoCAD™ system eliminates the need for plaster models. Most of the time, these records can be taken the same day as your exam.
Getting your braces
Getting your braces is your first step towards an incredible smile! This appointment lasts about ninety minutes, so please plan ahead. We will spend a lot of time with you reviewing how to care of your braces and foods to avoid. Once again, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Periodic visits
Since we use the most modern technology in braces and wires, it is no longer necessary to be seen every 4 weeks. After your braces are placed, your appointments will be scheduled every 6-8 weeks. This means less school and work missed over your total treatment time.
